DID YOU KNOW that you will never find the peace that you are so desperately seeking until you give YHVH first place in your life?
Sometimes when we are struggling so hard that we can’t see very clearly, we fail to realize that we are refusing to let go of our troubles – just as if we think we are more capable of handling these situations than the One who created us! And, if we have a sense of humor at all, we certainly will have to laugh at that idea, knowing that it is far more likely that, once again, we simply will jump from the proverbial frying pan into the fire!
If this describes the type of situation you may find yourself in right now, where do you go from here?
The most important step is to realize that the one thing you cannot possibly live without is being reconciled to YHVH through the Messiah Y’hoshua’s blood, which He sacrificed in such agony to wash away forever all of your past transgressions of the Torah, the Word of YHVH. Without that, even though you may be breathing, you will remain one of the walking dead.
This is definitely not the life you are seeking, but you will never change your course of life until you are willing to quit holding on to things of the world, whatever they may be, and start dying to self. After all, there are three little gods that will be fighting you every step of the way. Their names are Me, Myself and I. They are ruthless and manipulative, so if you aren’t fully committed to slaying them, they will defeat you every time. Until the day they have been slain, you will be in a state of confusion and forever searching!
But do we really have time to waste in confusion over troubles that confront us in the world when Matthew 7:14 reminds us that “narrow is the gate, and constricted is the way that leads away into life, and few are the ones finding it”?
Right now is the time to be very still and consider what is most important to you, the path that brings life, or the world that brings bondage. It has to be a conscious decision, as you cannot mix the two – it will have to be one or the other. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21
Another reminder about the seriousness of your decision can be found in these words spoken by the Messiah in Matthew 16:24-26, “Then Y’hoshua said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and let him bear his execution stake, and let him follow Me. For whoever may desire to save his life will lose it. But whoever may lose his life for My sake will find it. For what will a man be benefited if he should gain the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give (as) an exchange for his soul?”
Your personal gods, Me, Myself and I, must be drowned in the Water of the Word, for the more you actually begin to live the Word, the more your former gods will begin to fade away. As you diligently study the Word on a daily basis, it will highlight the things in your life that don’t match Scripture. Then you can sincerely repent, ask forgiveness and turn away from those things that do not honor YHVH. It is a process, and it doesn’t happen all at once. As more of the world is washed away, the more room there is in your life for the peace – the shalom – of YHVH.
James 4:4 explains it very well: “(Spiritual) Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that the friendship of the world is hostility (toward) YHVH? Whoever then purposes to be a friend of the world is put down hostile to YHVH.”
Again, in James 1:2-8, “My brothers count all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the proving of your trust works patience. But let patience have its perfective work, that you may be perfect (mature) and complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask from YHVH, (who) gives to all freely and with no reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in trust, doubting nothing. For the (one) who doubts is like a wave of the sea, being driven by wind, and being tossed; for do not let that man suppose that he will receive anything from YHVH; (he is) a double-souled man, not dependable in all his ways.”
Is that what we really desire? To be untrustworthy toward the One who has been so faithful toward us has got to be the most heinous crime of all!
Consider what YHVH is saying to His people in Ezekiel 16:62-63, “And I, (even) I, will raise up My covenant with you. And you shall know that I (am) YHVH, so that you may remember and be ashamed. And you will not any more open (your) mouth, because of your humiliation, when I am propitiated for you for all that you have done, declares Adoni YHVH.”
If you are part of His family, or if you choose to become part of His family, He came to earth in a body of flesh to become a propitiation for your transgressions and reconcile you to Himself. As Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:17-19, “ . . . behold, all things have become new! And all things (are) from YHVH, the (One) having reconciled us to Himself through Y’hoshua the Messiah, and having given to us the ministry of reconciliation, as, that YHVH was in the Messiah reconciling (the) world to Himself, not charging (executing) their deviations (transgressions of the Torah) to them, and having put the Word of reconciliation in us.”
Who is He?
Y’hoshua is YHVH, and YHVH is Y’hoshua! Look at Zechariah 14:3-4, “And YHVH shall go out and fight against those nations, like the day He fought in the day of battle. And His feet shall stand in that day on the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east . . .”
And, Zechariah 14:9, “And YHVH shall be King over all the earth. In that day there shall be one YHVH, and His name one.”
Is this the Elohim you worship? If not, beware, for the Messiah Y’hoshua warned:
“Then be watchful at every time, begging that you be counted (deemed entirely) worthy to escape all these things, the things being about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:36
James (Jacob), His brother, also had a warning: “ . . . For what is your life? For it is a vapor, which for a little (while) appears, and then disappears.” James 4:14
This breath that you are drawing in now may be the very last one allotted to you! If the next breath doesn’t come, your eternity will have been decided.
Do you have an humble and contrite heart? Do you tremble at the Word of YHVH? Are you speaking His Words when you lie down at night and when you rise up in the morning? Is He the center of your life?
If you cannot truthfully answer all of these questions in the affirmative, BEWARE! Where your thoughts are betrays where your heart is; and if they are not with the Creator, remember what He said about the children He brought out of Egypt, “Therefore I was angry with that generation, and said, They always go astray in their heart, and they have not known My ways, so I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest.”
Hebrews 3:10-11, (Ref. Psalm 95:10-11.)
