DID YOU KNOW that our wayward society tosses about the word God a lot, but do they actually care enough to learn about who He really is?
After all, it is quite fashionable to make a show of believing in the one whom they call Jesus Christ. They give him an hour or two on a Sunday morning, then rush out to a restaurant for lunch and then finish up a bit of shopping. Some spend the afternoon boating on a nearby lake.
If you don’t believe that religion (of all flavors) is the “in” thing, think back to the president who had oral sex in the Oval Office, but attended church on Sunday with a Bible under his arm! Unfortunately, he is only an outlandish example.
Even the ones who are sincere in their devotion to their particular brand of religion are following a lie – the blind leading the blind, and all falling into a ditch!
I can hear someone saying, “You arrogant know-it-all! What makes you think you have all the answers?”
I don’t have all the answers, but I do have a Book that does. And that Book says that all religions are teaching the traditions of men – lies and distortions. They may differ in the details, but not one follows the Word of Life.
The Messiah Y’hoshua tells us that, “ . . . you shall love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the foremost (most important) commandment.” Mark 12:30
And Deuteronomy 6:5 says, “ . . . you shall love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.”
Both the Torah and the Messiah say that we are to love and obey YHVH Elohim with our whole being; but what about those who claim “Jesus only” and ignore obedience to YHVH?
Y’hoshua is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah – He is not a gentile. But Christianity has made Him into a gentile god, the god of a new religion, which is divorced from the twelve sons of Jacob, as well as the Word given to Moses.
In Mark 3:35, He tells us, “ . . . whoever does the will of YHVH, this one is My brother, and My sister, and My mother.”
How can you be His brother, sister, or mother without becoming part of His family? He will not become a part of your gentile family – you must become part of His!
And, if you become part of His family, will you be expected to obey the rules of His family, or will it be permissible for you to continue living by the old rules “in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience?” Ephesians 2:2
Didn’t He specify, “Whoever does the will of YHVH”?
An excellent definition of the will of YHVH can be found in Webster’s 1828 Dictionary: “Gods law is spiritual; it is a transcript of the divine nature, and extends its authority to the acts of the soul of man. “
“ . . . the Torah is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.” Romans 7:12
“For we know that the Torah is Spiritual . . .” Romans 7:14
The Torah is Spiritual. That is the Spirit of the Father – the essence of the Father, His divine will – living within those who have made the decision to be obedient -- loving Him with all their hearts, their souls, their minds, and with all their strength.
“But answering Peter and the apostles said, ‘It is right to obey YHVH rather than man. The Elohim of our fathers raised up Y’hoshua, whom you seized, hanging on a tree. This One YHVH has exalted, a Prince and Savior to His right (hand), to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins. And we are His witnesses of these things, and also the Holy Spirit, whom YHVH gave to those obeying Him.” Acts 5:29-32
“But this (shall be) the covenant that I will cut with the house of Israel: After those days, declares YHVH, I will put My Torah in their inward parts, and I will write it on their hearts, and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.” Jeremiah 31:33
Note: After those days = After the Messiah comes.
“Husbands, love your wives, even as the Messiah also loved the ekklesia (called out ones) and gave Himself up on their behalf, that He might sanctify them (set them apart), cleansing
by the washing of the water of the Word, that He might present it to Himself the glorious ekklesia, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such things, but that they be holy (pure) and without blemish.” Ephesians 5:25-27
Light or Darkness?
The goal is to make us acceptable to be the Bride of the Messiah. “Let us rejoice and let us exult, and we will give glory to Him because the marriage of the Lamb came, and His wife prepared herself. And it was given to her that she be clothed in fine linen, pure and bright; for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.” Revelation 19:7-8
The Scriptural definition of righteousness can be found in Deuteronomy 6:24-25, “And YHVH commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear YHVH our Elohim for our good forever, to keep us alive, as today. And it shall be righteousness for us when we take heed to do all this commandment before YHVH our Elohim, as He has commanded us.”
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And the (one) hearing, let him say, Come! And the (one) thirsting, let (him) come; and the (one) desiring, let him take of the water of life freely.” Revelation 22:17
Also consider: “. . . For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.” John 8:24
Compare the above verse in John with Exodus 3:13-15, “And Moses said to Elohim, ‘Behold, I come to the sons of Israel and say to them, the Elohim of your fathers has sent me to you; and they will say to me,’ “What (is) His name” ‘What shall I say to them?’ And Elohim said to Moses,” I AM THAT I AM,” and He said, ‘You shall say this to the sons of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.’ And Elohim said to Moses again, ‘You shall say this to the sons of Israel, YHVH, the Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial from generation to generation.’ ” Exodus 3:13-15
If you do not believe that the Messiah is YHVH, does He not say that you will die in your sins?
Also, read John 1:1 with eyes wide open: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with YHVH, and the Word was YHVH.”
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
“For the commandment is a lamp, and the Torah a light; and reproofs of instruction are a way of life.” Proverbs 6:23
“But the (one) doing the truth (the Torah) comes to the Light . . .” John 3:21
“Then Y’hoshua again spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the Light of the world. The one following Me will in no way walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.’ ”
“While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.” John 9:5
1 John 1:
(1-2) “What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld, and our hands touched, as regards the Word of Life. And the Life was revealed, and we have seen, and we bear witness, and we announce to you the everlasting Life which was with the Father, and was revealed to us.
(3-4) “We announce to you what we have seen, and we have heard, that you also may have fellowship (partnership) with us. And truly our partnership is with the Father and with His Son, Y’hoshua the Messiah. And we write these things to you, that your joy may be full.
(5-7) ”And this is the message which we have heard from Him and we proclaim to you: YHVH is light, and no darkness is in Him, none! If we say that we have partnership with Him (YHVH), and we walk in darkness, we lie and are not practicing the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He (YHVH) is in the light, we have partnership with one another, and the blood of His Son, Y’hoshua the Messiah cleanses us from all sin.
(8-10) “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He (YHVH) is faithful and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.”
We have been given free will, so we alone make the decision about which pathway we will travel:
Truth or Deception?
Righteousness or Lawlessness?
The New Jerusalem or the Lake of Fire?
We aren’t playing a game! This is a deadly serious subject, for we are talking about your life, both now and for all eternity!
