EPHRAIM

DID YOU KNOW that Ephraim, the house of Israel, the northern kingdom, the kingdom of Israel, the ten lost tribes and the lost sheep of the house of Israel are all speaking about the same group of Israelites: the ten tribes whose territories were in the northern part of the Land of Israel, including the two and one-half tribes whose land was on the East side of the Jordan River?

A BRIEF BACKGROUND: Because of their disobedience, YHVH scattered them in 722 B.C.E. to the four corners of the earth, where they became assimilated into the gentile nations until the end of days, for it was prophesied that in the end of days a repentant remnant of the house of Israel would once again become the people of YHVH.

KEY SCRIPTURES: Genesis 48:19b, Jacob adopted the first two sons of Joseph and is speaking a blessing over Ephraim, the second-born son, but chosen by Elohim to be elevated to the position of firstborn. “. . . And his (Ephraim’s) descendants shall become the fullness of the gentiles (melo goyim).”

In the first chapter of the Book of Hosea, note the names of the three children: Jezreel (Elohim will sow), Lo-Ruhamah (No mercy) and Lo-Ammi (Not my people). Now read verse 10, “Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or numbered. And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, ‘You (are) not My people,,’ there it shall be said to them, ‘You are the sons of the living El.’ ”

Romans 9:23-26, “. . .us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? As He says also in Hosea: ‘I will call them My people, who were not My people,’ and her beloved, who was not beloved. And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them , ‘You are not My people, there they shall be called sons of the living El.’ ”

Jeremiah 31:9b, “For I am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn Note: The firstborn is the inheritor of the responsibility for being the Spiritual head of the family.

PROMISES: Jeremiah 31:15-17, “Thus says YHVH: ‘A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her sons, refusing to be comforted for her sons, because they are no more.’ Thus says YHVH: ‘Refrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for your work shall be rewarded, says YHVH, and they shall come back from the land of the enemy. There is hope in your future, says YHVH, that your sons shall come back to their own border.’ ” Rachel was the mother of Joseph and the grandmother of his son, Ephraim, also known as the house of Israel.

Jeremiah 31:33, “ ‘But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days,’ says YHVH, ‘I will put My law (My Torah) in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their El, and they shall be My people.’ ”

Jeremiah 31:20, “Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a pleasant child? For though I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still; therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says YHVH.”

Hosea 2:19-20, “I will betroth you to Me forever: Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, and you shall know YHVH.” Hosea 2:21a, “ ‘It shall come to pass in that day (that) I will answer,,’ says YHVH; . . .’ ” And verse 23, “Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, and I will have mercy on (her who had) not obtained mercy; then I will say to (those who were) not My people, ‘You (are) My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You (are) Elohay (my El)!’ ”

Hosea 6:1-3, “Come, and let us return to YHVH; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight. Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of YHVH. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth.” The spring festivals occur at the time of the latter rain; and the fall festivals occur at the time of the former rain. Read these words very carefully, with understanding.

Then, Matthew 15:24, “But answering, He said, ‘I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.’ ”
